This San Diego Sockers franchise has no relation to the orginal Sockers that folded after the 1996 season.

 

Always Remember the First Time

Opening Day 2001 marked the first time that the Sidekicks played a regular season home game somewhere other than Reunion Arena. The Sidekicks were given the honor of playing the first sporting event at the American Airlines Center, the new sports arena in Dallas. The Sidekicks' home remains at Reunion Arena.
