General Info

The San Diego Sockers were founded in the North American Soccer League as the Baltimore Comets in 1974. The franchise moved to San Diego (as the Jaws) in 1976 and after one season shifted to Las Vegas as the Quicksivler. They returned to San Diego to stay in 1978 and took the name Sockers.

 

No Relation

Although they claim the legacy, and share certain employees, the San Diego Sockers of the WISL and new-MISL (founded 2001) have no connection to this version of the club.
