1988: Team
president David Shuttee announced that Mark
Karpun, who was one of only 3 players still on the roster from the Charter
Season, would not be offered a contract before Training Camp.
Citing
only one roster space available after 17 other players had signed contracts
or come to terms, Shuttee announced that Karpun,
at the time the club's second leading scorer, would be invited to Training
Camp to compete for the final position available.
