Overview

Gordon Jago helped organize the World Indoor Soccer League (known as the Premiere Soccer Alliance in 1998) after the collapse of the CISL. The name change came about in 1999 when a group of owners in England proposed an indoor league in Europe that would hold a "World Championship Match" with the North American based teams. The English Football Association (FA) did not approve of the plan and the European Division never materialized.

The WISL merged with teams from the National Professional Soccer League after the 2001 season to form a new league which took the name "Major Indoor Soccer League".
