How He Got Here

Betts signed with Dallas as a free agent after the Utah Freezz folded, but the signing was nullified after the Sidekicks joined the new-MISL by Commisioner Steve Ryan. Betts was considered to be the Sidekicks first round selection (4th overall) in a dispersal draft of Utah and Sacramento players. He signed a contract to play with the Sidekicks on November 14, 2002.

Deja Vu?

Betts played in a Dallas uniform against "Mexico" on July 25, 1998 as a "guest player." That match is now considered an exhibition for the purposes of the Sidekicks records (two sets of standings were kept in the PSA that season: overall record and games against PSA member clubs).

Where Did He Go?

Betts left the Sidekicks on February 6 for what the team called "personal reasons." He was placed on the suspended list on the same day.

Betts lives in Washington state with his wife and son.
