Always Remember
the First Time (although not the way we want to...)
2001: Due to the
complete shutdown of all airline traffic in the United States after the terrorist
attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, the World
Indoor Soccer League cancelled all matches for the weekend following September
11. Games with Utah (September 13)
and San Diego (September
15) were rescheduled to dates later in the season. This marked the first time
that a Regular Season match had been cancelled for any reason other than inclement
weather.
