The Chicago Sting were founded as an expansion team in the North American Soccer League in 1975. They joined the MISL for the 1982-83 indoor season, and then as a permanent member before the 1984-85 campaign.

What Happened to Them?

The Chicago Sting were folded by owner Lee Stern on July 7, 1988 after negotiations with potential new investors to the franchise failed.
