Draft Notice

Acosta was drafted by the St. Louis Steamers with the first pick of the second round in the 1988 Player Draft. Because the Steamers folded prior to next season, a supplemental draft of players selected by St. Louis, the Chicago Sting, Cleveland Force, and Minnesota Strikers was held. Acosta was then selected by Dallas.

Before He Was a Sidekick

Acosta scored 14 goals (best in the ASL) to lead the New Jersey Eagles to the Northern Division Championship.
