Dallas Sidekicks Players

#4 Jorge Acosta

Where Did He Go?

Acosta returned to the New Jersey Eagles for the 1989 outdoor season. After being drafted by the Metrostars of Major League Soccer in 1996, he played for the New York Fever (Division II), before retiring as a player.

Acosta currently works with Mickey Kydes Soccer Enterprises as Assistant Camp Director. He is also Program Director for Rec clinics at Old Greenwich Riverside Civic Center in Connecticut.

Draft Notice

Acosta was drafted by the St. Louis Steamers with the first pick of the second round in the 1988 Player Draft. Because the Steamers folded prior to next season, a supplemental draft of players selected by St. Louis, the Chicago Sting, Cleveland Force, and Minnesota Strikers was held. Acosta was then selected by Dallas.
