The Harrisburg Heat ownership group announced after the 2002-03 season that they would not operate the franchise for another season. After searching for new owners for the franchise during the summer of 2003, the new-MISL announced the team would suspend operations for the 2003-04 season on July 29, 2003 (one day after a dispersal draft of now-former Heat players took place).
