1987: The MISL announced that a "game of the week" would be broadcast on 15 consecutive Friday nights begining January 8, 1988 on the FNN/SCORE cable network. The Sidekicks had two games on the FNN/SCORE schedule: January 22 at Cleveland and February 12 at Wichita

1986: Krys Sobieski's wife, Ewa, and his two children returned to Dallas on this date almost two months after the then-Communist government of Poland had prevented them from going home to the Metroplex. The Polish government tried to force Sobieski to return to the country of his birth in a dispute over transfer fees Poland believed it should have been paid by both of Sobieski's former clubs, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
