1992: MSL Commissioner
Earl Foreman announced that he would meet "within the next 10 days"
with officials of the National Professional Soccer League, which the Dallas
Morning News called "a 9 team minor league based in the East and Midwest."
While he declined to say what the discussions would be about, a merger of
the two leagues was reportededly on the table.
A merger of the two
leagues decended from the M(I)SL and the NPSL did not occur until December
19, 2001.
